This is a 3-conductor, 18-gauge cord in the pulley cord style. The 3 conductors are twisted, padded with filler to make the cord perfectly round, and then covered in gold cotton braid.

If you would like a 2-conductor pulley cord, you can clip the third wire and leave it unused.
