Perfect for users who need backup, storage, and large-volume exchange for office files, photos, music, and even video clips, the Rugged XL has enough space to accommodate as many as 330,000 photos, 270,000 songs, or 1,420 DivX movies.

The Rugged XL offers the convenience of high-speed USB 2.0 connectivity (which is USB 1.1 backward compatible) along with a speedy eSATA interface. Exchanging data between Macs and PCs is simple, and all your files will automatically be backed up for added peace of mind. The Rugged XL requires no extra drivers for Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Vista, or Mac OS X operating systems.

This high-performance drive features a transfer rate of up to three gigabits per second via its eSATA connection. Measuring 5.1 x 1.7 x 8.5 inches (WxHxD), the Rugged XL fits on any desktop and is small enough to move between work stations, so you can easily transfer massive amounts of data and back up multiple machines.

Included with the drive are LaCie software bundles to enhance performance and functionality, including LaCie's One-Click Backup Software (for Mac and PC) and SilverKeeper Backup Software (for Mac).
